Airlines (PIA).
Delivered to PIA on October 19, 1962. On May 20, 1965, AP-AMH
was performing PIA flight PK705 from Karachi to London via
Dhahran, Cairo & Geneva with 114 passengers and 12 crew members onboard. The aircraft during final approach to Cairo Airport
descended below minimum altitude at a rapid rate and crashed
in desert at 2:48 AM in Wadi el Tarung 10 miles from Cairo
Airport. 108 passengers and all 12 crew members were killed. Only
6 passengers survived the accident.
Registration AP-AMH removed from Pakistan Aircraft Register
on August 3, 1965. |
